When I look at the children of Africa, I see some of the most amazing, talented, and resilient people I have ever met. I see children that are born with the potential to reflect the very image of God and change the course of a continent. All they need to realize that image and potential is to experience the love of God and choose to follow Him.
That’s where the optimism is assaulted by the hard realities of Africa. Just how do we show every child the love of Christ? Is it all just hyperbole and propaganda? While the reality check serves to prepare us for the difficulties ahead, it doesn’t dissuade us from the importance of the task.
At the heart of Africa’s Children's mission are the missionaries that serve the continent, the over 18 million local believers in almost 80,000 churches that compose the Assemblies of God in Africa. This is the army we partner with, resource, and train so that the children of Africa have an opportunity to experience the love of Christ and choose to follow Him. We want to see a missionary equipping children’s ministers and workers in every country in AGWM Africa. The idea of 18 million people and 80,000 churches passionate about reaching the children of Africa is exciting and powerful. That’s what Africa’s Children works toward! That’s our passion!
What do we need to see this powerful army reach new heights of effectiveness? First, we need people who will pray. The effectiveness of our church in Africa relies on the power of the Holy Spirit to persuade those who would not otherwise listen. Please pray that the Holy Spirit’s anointing will rest on all our missionaries and national churches.
Secondly, we need our partners in the United States to give. Your generosity enables Africa’s Children to provide our missionaries and national churches with the tools, training, and curriculum they need.
Our third need is for more missionaries. Out of 52 countries, there are 19 countries where AGWM Africa still does not have any missionary presence and 40 countries where there is no one to train and equip national churches to minister to children.
To mobilize this army, we need people to pray, give and come. Will you pray? Will you give? Will you come?
