Unreached People Groups

June 5, 2017

Africa’s Hope is a ministry of the Assemblies of God World Missions. This ministry operates on the belief that “trained leaders are Africa’s Hope”.

Their basic mission is to facilitate training that equips the church in Africa to disciple the nations in the power of the Holy Spirit. There are a plethora of ministries that are handled through the Africa’s Hope office, but the focus of this post is to focus on their efforts in the area of unreached people groups.

The Discovery Series is a diploma - level curriculum that is designed to be used in our 250+ African Bible Schools and training centers across the continent. It consists of almost 40 courses. It is developed, printed and distributed by Africa’s Hope.

In 2015, Africa’s Hope launched a five-year campaign called the Journey of Discovery. This campaign is a step of faith to raise the resources needed to make the entire Discovery Series curriculum available in 12 major African languages. It is a massive undertaking from conception to distribution.

By having this curriculum in their own language, church planters all over Africa will be equipped to engage the 867 unreached people groups in sub-Saharan Africa. After being trained in one of our Bible Schools or training centers with the Discovery Series translated into one of 12 African languages, local pastors can take the gospel into areas that outsiders do not have access to. Thriving churches can be planted where none existed before among the remaining unreached people groups in Africa.
